Busy weekends ahead!
Thursday afternoon we are heading to Birmingham. We are having Finley's 6 month pictures done on Friday, then we're off to go see Grammie and Papa. Saturday we're gonna hang out with Cici, then that afternoon we're going to go visit my dad(his name has yet to be determined) and Mimi. I'm going to go see Melissa and James who just had a precious little boy named Nick. I just know he is going to be very handsome so I expect Melissa to keep him single for Finley ;) Although she needs to know I expect Finley to marry a neurosurgeon that treats her like a queen, so she's got some work ahead of her. Auburn football Saturday night!! War Eagle!! Sunday is Finley's Baptism, then we head home. Whew! Now you understand why Joey and I are so desperate to get closer to home. These weekend trips wear us out!!! We are coming up again the next weekend for my cousin Greg's wedding to sweet Angie and we are soooo excited for several reasons. I am happy to have a reason to get dressed up and have an evening among adults. I hope I don't accidentally lapse into baby talk ;) Joey also likes to dress up and don't let him telll you otherwise! Also, I just love weddings!! We are so ready to officially welcome Angie to the family. Unfortunately for her, now we will all start showing our true colors. I think we have also decided to come up for Finley's 1st Halloween. I wish there was time to visit everyone :( I always hope I will see people out randomly when I'm in town because I miss my friends and seeing them, even if its only in passing, is such a treat. I better start packing!

Finley's Favs
I have been a slacker when it comes to keeping Finley on a schedule. Our schedule is very "flexible" ;) I feed her about an hour after she wakes up in the morning, then we play until she gets fussy and I put her down for a morning nap, then when she wakes up we play or go run errands, she eats again, naps in the afternoon, eats again, then around 7:30 or so I bath her, then she gets a bottle and goes to bed between 8:00 and 9:00pm. She didn't take to solid foods at first, but she has gotten so much better. This week I' m going to stick to a feeding schedule!!! So far she LOVES...her bottle of course(I stopped breastfeeding at 5 months), carrots, sweet potatoes, pears, peaches, bananas and applesauce (probably her fav). The only thing she has actually gagged over was sweet peas and I don't blame her. I don't know of many green, mushy foods that are very good. Next week we can start meats so we'll see how that goes. I'm anxious to start her on 2nd foods.
As for me, I'm just avoiding the kitchen all together. I've lost all my "baby weight", but now I'm working on losing my "marriage weight". If I can lose 7 more lbs. I'll be very happy!! 17 lbs. would be even better, but I'm not going to push my luck. Why set myself up for disappointment?

Mother's Day Out...Hmmmm
So recently I've been thinking more and more about Mother's Day Out. I feel so lucky to be able to stay home with Finley and it has always been my plan, but it does have its drawbacks. Since we have no family and very few friends (even fewer who have children) in Mobile, Finley doesn't have much interaction with anyone except Joey and I. She will be 6 months old in a week and I feel like she is old enough now to enjoy seeing and playing with other children... and adults for that matter. I haven't left her for more than a few hours and only with family, so I'm a little nervous just thinking about it. I have visions of her being ignored, neglected or worse! Hey, it happens!! I have talked to several people in Mobile and I think I have a good list of reputable Mother's Day Out programs so I will call and get some information tomorrow. As for whether or not I can actually leave my baby with complete strangers... well, we'll see.
