Carrie's Baby Shower
My good friend Carrie from Mobile had her baby shower on Saturday so I drove down to help shower her with gifts for Baby Connor. It was really nice and she got lots of great gifts. My favorite gift was a little pair of boxers with his name on the bottom. They were precious!!! We played a really cute game that I have never played at a baby shower. There was a basket of baby items and everyone got to guess the cost of all the items. I got really close, but didn't win :( Anyway, I was so glad I got to see her and my old work friends. Aside from 8 hours in the car, it was a great day!

What we've been up to lately.
Let's see...We've gone to the pool just about every day. Finley loves it and it's in walking distance so Thursday we went to the pool and just hung around the house and played outside. Friday we went to lunch with Nicole and Kate. Finley was good until the last 5 or 10 minutes and then she was bucking and kicking in my lap. Kate sat there like a perfect angel. I remember when Finley was like that :( Then we went over to my friend Stacy's house and Finley played with Riley and Payton all afternoon. She had so much fun and was pooped when we got home! Friday night Joey came in town and I took Finley over to my MIL's to spend the night. We all grilled out steaks and had dinner together. One of my really good friends from Mobile, Carrie, had her baby shower Saturday so I drove down to Mobile. It was really nice and she gots lots of great gifts! We can't wait for Connor to get here!!! I came back that night and passed out I was so tired! Sunday we got up and had breakfast and then went to my mom's. Joey and I went to look at appliances and had dinner at Zoe's. It was a very romantic evening;) By the way, I could live off of Zoe's rice pilaf. I could seriously eat it by the pound. Yum!!! Today we went to the pool with Heather and Delaney and now Finley is napping. When she gets up we are heading to the library and to run some errands. So that's what we've been up too lately. Sorry for the boring post;) I hope everyone has a great week!

Alabama Furniture Market

I'm getting really excited about the move to Huntsville! As some of you know, we sold a lot of our furniture so we could start fresh. My sister-in-law recently told me about Alabama Furniture Market in Calera. Forgive me if I'm the last person on Earth to find out about this place, but it is AMAZING!!! They have beautiful furniture! This is really the first time I have ever shopped for furniture so I don't have much to compare it to as far as prices, but they seemed pretty reasonable considering how beautiful the couches and beds were. They also had gorgeous rugs, picture frames and lamps. Best part? NO PUSHY SALESPEOPLE!!! Anyway, if you are looking for furniture you have to check it out. You get off at the Calera exit that has the Cracker Barrel and go right off the exit. It's about a mile down that road on your right.

Finley's first...
FEVER! (14 and a half months)Finley woke up Sunday and felt really warm. She was all wrapped up in her blankets though so I thought she might cool down. Well, she didn't. I took her temp and it was 101. I gave her some Tylenol and it went down. She was fine all day Sunday except for being a little fussy. Monday she woke up and was fine, but had a fever of 100 when I checked her a couple hours after she got up. I gave her some more Tylenol and we just hung around the house and rested. She slept a good bit. She hasn't had a fever since. Her back teeth are coming in so I'm guessing it was either a result of her putting things in her mouth or maybe she picked up a bug somewhere. She is fine today so I think it has passed. Poor baby!
Busiest weekend EVER!
This past weekend was a busy one! We had a birthday party, we celebrated Father's Day with Joey and then we went to Atlanta on Sunday to visit my dad for Father's Day. Whew! We put a few miles on the ole' Accord. Here goes...
Saturday morning we headed over to Scarlett's 1st birthday party. It was so cute!!! Finley had fun walking all over the house. I followed her around like she was a bomb. I was so afraid she was going to break, spill or stain something. She ate a cupcake and some sausage balls (what a combo!) and just had a fun time. Finley and Jennie's niece had on the same outfit so I had to get a pic. Anna Beth was giving Finley kisses;) Finley got an inflatable frog from the party and she had a death grip on it the whole way home. She would not let go of it. I don't know who she thought was going to take it, but she wasn't taking any chances! We also got to see Amy and finally meet Livi! She was the sweetest, best baby! I got to hold her and it seriously made me want to have another baby NOW! Thanks for inviting us Scarlett! We hope you had a wonderful 1st birthday!!!

On Saturday night we celebrated Father's Day with Joey, his mom and dad and Curt, Laura and the kids. We ate at Petrucelli's. I won't talk about Finley's behavior at the restaurant, you can just use your imagination. Let's just say we won't be eating out as a family until this stage has passed. We had a good time visiting though. After dinner we went back to Joey's parents house and had dessert and took some family pics. Here are a few of my favs.

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY TO AN AWESOME DAD! Sunday, my sister, Finley and I drove to Atlanta to visit my dad for Father's Day. We are going back for the 4th so it won't be long until our next visit. I wish we got to see him more often:( Finley did pretty good on the drive up and slept most of the way back. We got some take-out for lunch and then we hung out in the backyard, watched Yo Gabba Gabba, read some books and went to get ice cream. While we were out getting ice cream we went in a toy store and Finley fell in love with this miniature grocery cart. It was exactly like a real grocery cart except it was tiny. She was pushing it everywhere and when I left the store to go look somewhere else my sister said she went crazy and was ramming it into everything and she had to take it away from her and a meltdown ensued. Meltdowns are commonplace these days. My dad's next door neighbor had two Golden Retriever puppies and we got to play with them for a little while. They were PRECIOUS! I'm working on making one of them mine. The woman who sold her the puppies gave her one of them temporarily because she has too many and she can't sell him. I'm hoping she will just give him to us. We'll see! He is house-trained and so sweet and calm. I know Finley would love to have a dog she can grow up with. She loves to let the dogs tail hit her in the face and she didn't get upset when they crowded around her and licked her from head to toe. Finley is really laid back when she is getting her way:) We had a good time. We wished my dad a Happy Father's Day and hit the road. Here are some pics.

I hope everyone had a great Father's Day! Have a good week!

Loving being "home".
I am loving being back in Bham! Yesterday Finley and I ran some errands and then picked up my sis and we went over to my step-sister's house and had dinner. Chicken spaghetti! Yum! We just hung out for a while and got home around 10pm. Today we went and picked up my rings from UPS. Yay! They are back on my hands where they will stay!!! We went and looked at a house with my mom. She is renting the house she's in now because her other house sold really quickly. After that, Finley and I met my friend Stacy and her two girls at the McWane Center. It is my new favorite place:) I paid $11 and got 3 hours of entertainment for Finley. She loved it! She played on the water table, played in the Magic City and stared at that big erector set thing in the plexi glass for a good 20 minutes. She kept chasing the balls around the sides of it. It was too funny! She loved looking at the fish in the World of Water. She watched them for a while and then we went over to the touching area and she got to touch a shark. If I had let her she would have gone swimming with them, but I held on tight. Last but not least we got our picture taken with THE Mr. Potato Head. It was a proud moment:) She passed out before we got to the interstate and now she's napping in her bed. Mommy might take a little nap too;)

Home Sweet Home!
Here are some pics of the new house. Well, new to us anyway. It's an older home that was "flipped". The neighborhood is great, it has a big backyard and it's in a wonderful school district. We are so excited to move in. Looks like we'll close around July 21st.

The house!

One of the bedrooms.

The hallway to the bedrooms.

The kitchen.

The den. I think we'll put hardwood down and use it as a dining room.

Deja Vu
I'm experiencing a bit of deja vu. Joey is in Huntsville and I'm in Birmingham. We are in a long-distance relationship...again. Joey and I dated for 4 1/2 years before we got engaged and about 2 1/2 years of that was long distance. He was in Murfreesboro, then Nashville and then Mobile and I was in Birmingham. We saw each other on the weekends when we could, but sometimes we went 3 weeks without seeing each other. This time is different though. He is a lot closer and we'll be closing on our house in a little over a month so it won't be long until we are re-united. Yay! We miss you Dada!!! Good luck at your new job. We know you'll be GREAT!!!

Rings!!!
Today is the best day! The owner of the beach house called and she found my rings!!!! Ahhhhh!!!! I am so happy! She is overnighting them to me so I should have them in the next day or so. Oh my gosh, when Joey told me I felt like a huge weight had been lifted off my shoulders. She said she found them wrapped in a towel on a shelf above the washer and dryer. No idea how they got there. I guess I put them there, but I know I looked up there because I remember hoisting myself up on the washer so I could look on that shelf. Honestly I couldn't care less where she found them. I'm just so glad they were found. Now I can enjoy all the fun things going on right now. We are officially moved to Bham and we're going to look at houses in Huntsville again tomorrow. Yay! A BIG thank you to all my blog friends for your kind and encouraging words.

Wedding bling:(
I think it's every woman's worst nightmare...losing your wedding ring. I can barely even talk about it because I start to get a sick feeling in my stomach like someone died. While we were at the beach, my engagement ring, which was soldered to my wedding band, and the diamond ring my mom gave me for my high school graduation (it was made with my grandmother's diamonds) disappeared. I am telling you we tore that house apart not once, but twice. We went through every bag, purse, unfolded every article of clothing, looked in the washer and dryer, in the couch, under rugs. We even took apart the sink pipes to see if it fell down there. I even went through the trash. We searched and searched and searched for my rings and they had vanished. I know I had them Monday night wile we were watching Housewives and Tuesday afternoon when I went to put them on they were gone. After talking about it for a while we decided to file a police report. That way, maybe we can get insurance at the beach house to cover it because our doesn't. Yes, we learned a very valuable lesson. Anyway, we had trouble with the condo all week and there were 6 or 7 different workmen in and out around the time they went missing...I'm just sayin'.
Beach trip 2010
The beach trip was wonderful! We ate good food, rode bikes, went to Big Kahuna, played on the beach, swam in the pool, heard live music, watched a movie outdoors, went out to eat, had a Girls Night Out and just relaxed. It was much-needed! Finley had so much fun experiencing new things and playing with her cousins. I took 475 pictures;) Here are a few of my favorites.

"TO DO" OVERLOAD!!!
We are back from our beach trip and we are trying to get back in the swing of things, but it has been CRAZY!!! We are moving this week so we are packing up a storm. I'm headed to Bham to live with my mom and Joey is going to Huntsville to live with his aunt and start his new job. We've had people calling like crazy since we decided to try to rent our house. It is still for sale, but we thought people may be looking for rentals right now and we were right! Finley is going through some kind of stage. She is having little fits if she doesn't get what she wants. Crying, feet stomping, the whole bit. We are using time-out and I hope it will work one of these days. We have birthdays and showers galore this month and I am getting overwhelmed just blogging about it. I will be positive though! We are making good progress on the packing. Finley's room, the foyer, the living room and the guest bathroom are done and the kitchen is 90% done. Next up will be the master bedroom, bathroom and closet. We are going to Huntsville on Friday to look at a couple new houses and to check back in with the ones we liked last time. Despite the insanity of it all we are thrilled to be moving to Huntsville. I really think we'll like it. It has a homey feel;) We already have some friends and family there and we will be 2 1/2 hours closer to home. Yay! I've got to get back to packing! I hope everyone has a great week!
