Busiest weekend EVER!

This past weekend was a busy one! We had a birthday party, we celebrated Father's Day with Joey and then we went to Atlanta on Sunday to visit my dad for Father's Day. Whew! We put a few miles on the ole' Accord. Here goes...

Saturday morning we headed over to Scarlett's 1st birthday party. It was so cute!!! Finley had fun walking all over the house. I followed her around like she was a bomb. I was so afraid she was going to break, spill or stain something. She ate a cupcake and some sausage balls (what a combo!) and just had a fun time. Finley and Jennie's niece had on the same outfit so I had to get a pic. Anna Beth was giving Finley kisses;) Finley got an inflatable frog from the party and she had a death grip on it the whole way home. She would not let go of it. I don't know who she thought was going to take it, but she wasn't taking any chances! We also got to see Amy and finally meet Livi! She was the sweetest, best baby! I got to hold her and it seriously made me want to have another baby NOW! Thanks for inviting us Scarlett! We hope you had a wonderful 1st birthday!!!

On Saturday night we celebrated Father's Day with Joey, his mom and dad and Curt, Laura and the kids. We ate at Petrucelli's. I won't talk about Finley's behavior at the restaurant, you can just use your imagination. Let's just say we won't be eating out as a family until this stage has passed. We had a good time visiting though. After dinner we went back to Joey's parents house and had dessert and took some family pics. Here are a few of my favs.

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY TO AN AWESOME DAD! Sunday, my sister, Finley and I drove to Atlanta to visit my dad for Father's Day. We are going back for the 4th so it won't be long until our next visit. I wish we got to see him more often:( Finley did pretty good on the drive up and slept most of the way back. We got some take-out for lunch and then we hung out in the backyard, watched Yo Gabba Gabba, read some books and went to get ice cream. While we were out getting ice cream we went in a toy store and Finley fell in love with this miniature grocery cart. It was exactly like a real grocery cart except it was tiny. She was pushing it everywhere and when I left the store to go look somewhere else my sister said she went crazy and was ramming it into everything and she had to take it away from her and a meltdown ensued. Meltdowns are commonplace these days. My dad's next door neighbor had two Golden Retriever puppies and we got to play with them for a little while. They were PRECIOUS! I'm working on making one of them mine. The woman who sold her the puppies gave her one of them temporarily because she has too many and she can't sell him. I'm hoping she will just give him to us. We'll see! He is house-trained and so sweet and calm. I know Finley would love to have a dog she can grow up with. She loves to let the dogs tail hit her in the face and she didn't get upset when they crowded around her and licked her from head to toe. Finley is really laid back when she is getting her way:) We had a good time. We wished my dad a Happy Father's Day and hit the road. Here are some pics.

I hope everyone had a great Father's Day! Have a good week!

Crazy Hair Day

As Finley's hair gets longer, she has more and more of these crazy hair days

.

Loving being "home".

I am loving being back in Bham! Yesterday Finley and I ran some errands and then picked up my sis and we went over to my step-sister's house and had dinner. Chicken spaghetti! Yum! We just hung out for a while and got home around 10pm. Today we went and picked up my rings from UPS. Yay! They are back on my hands where they will stay!!! We went and looked at a house with my mom. She is renting the house she's in now because her other house sold really quickly. After that, Finley and I met my friend Stacy and her two girls at the McWane Center. It is my new favorite place:) I paid $11 and got 3 hours of entertainment for Finley. She loved it! She played on the water table, played in the Magic City and stared at that big erector set thing in the plexi glass for a good 20 minutes. She kept chasing the balls around the sides of it. It was too funny! She loved looking at the fish in the World of Water. She watched them for a while and then we went over to the touching area and she got to touch a shark. If I had let her she would have gone swimming with them, but I held on tight. Last but not least we got our picture taken with THE Mr. Potato Head. It was a proud moment:) She passed out before we got to the interstate and now she's napping in her bed. Mommy might take a little nap too;)

Home Sweet Home!

Here are some pics of the new house. Well, new to us anyway. It's an older home that was "flipped". The neighborhood is great, it has a big backyard and it's in a wonderful school district. We are so excited to move in. Looks like we'll close around July 21st.

The house!

One of the bedrooms.

The hallway to the bedrooms.

The kitchen.

The den. I think we'll put hardwood down and use it as a dining room.

The living room.

One of the bathrooms.

Deja Vu

I'm experiencing a bit of deja vu. Joey is in Huntsville and I'm in Birmingham. We are in a long-distance relationship...again. Joey and I dated for 4 1/2 years before we got engaged and about 2 1/2 years of that was long distance. He was in Murfreesboro, then Nashville and then Mobile and I was in Birmingham. We saw each other on the weekends when we could, but sometimes we went 3 weeks without seeing each other. This time is different though. He is a lot closer and we'll be closing on our house in a little over a month so it won't be long until we are re-united. Yay! We miss you Dada!!! Good luck at your new job. We know you'll be GREAT!!!

Rings!!!

Today is the best day! The owner of the beach house called and she found my rings!!!! Ahhhhh!!!! I am so happy! She is overnighting them to me so I should have them in the next day or so. Oh my gosh, when Joey told me I felt like a huge weight had been lifted off my shoulders. She said she found them wrapped in a towel on a shelf above the washer and dryer. No idea how they got there. I guess I put them there, but I know I looked up there because I remember hoisting myself up on the washer so I could look on that shelf. Honestly I couldn't care less where she found them. I'm just so glad they were found. Now I can enjoy all the fun things going on right now. We are officially moved to Bham and we're going to look at houses in Huntsville again tomorrow. Yay! A BIG thank you to all my blog friends for your kind and encouraging words.

Wedding bling:(

I think it's every woman's worst nightmare...losing your wedding ring. I can barely even talk about it because I start to get a sick feeling in my stomach like someone died. While we were at the beach, my engagement ring, which was soldered to my wedding band, and the diamond ring my mom gave me for my high school graduation (it was made with my grandmother's diamonds) disappeared. I am telling you we tore that house apart not once, but twice. We went through every bag, purse, unfolded every article of clothing, looked in the washer and dryer, in the couch, under rugs. We even took apart the sink pipes to see if it fell down there. I even went through the trash. We searched and searched and searched for my rings and they had vanished. I know I had them Monday night wile we were watching Housewives and Tuesday afternoon when I went to put them on they were gone. After talking about it for a while we decided to file a police report. That way, maybe we can get insurance at the beach house to cover it because our doesn't. Yes, we learned a very valuable lesson. Anyway, we had trouble with the condo all week and there were 6 or 7 different workmen in and out around the time they went missing...I'm just sayin'.
