Must Love Dogs...and cats
Last night we went over to April and Josh's house for dinner. They live down the street so we put Finley in her car and walked over. We had lasagna and is was DELICIOUS!!! Josh and April have a dog and two cats. Finley loved them! Lily is a lab and she was so sweet and not hyper at all so we put Finley down and she followed Lily all over the place. Finley was so sweet to her and was very gentle. Sometimes she likes to go for the eyes so you have to watch her. Lily was walking all over the living room and Finley would follow her and get really close to her tail and let it hit her in the face. Finley thought it was really funny and started giggling whenever it happened. It was too funny! I wish I had taken my camera. Once she spotted the cats, who were smart and hid from her, she would take off after them and they would run to the next hiding spot. One of the cats was curious about Finley and came right up to her. Finley put her hand out and the cat rubbed its head on her hand. It was really sweet. Finley was kind of fussy when we first got there, but once she got comfortable in the new place, she walked up and down their sectional and played with the animals. Again, it is really tempting to get a pet because Finley LOVES animals. I know she would love it and it would entertain her for hours. Maybe it will be like having a baby...if enough time passes you'll forget what it was like and you'll do it again;)

Riley's 3rd Birthday!
She would only eat the icing!
On the merry go round.
Finley and the birthday girl!
Sunday we went to Mae Dolls to celebrate Riley's 3rd birthday. Riley's mom Stacy has become a good friend of mine. She lives next door to my mom and I met her that way. The party was so cute! All the little girls got to put on doctor coats and go into the nursery to pick out their newborn baby. They did a check-up and measured their babies then they got onstage and sang a lullaby and told what they decided to name their baby. Then, while the babies were "sleeping" they got to have cupcakes and pink lemonade. Finley had a ball! She didn't really partake in any activities, but she did carry her baby around and push her in a stroller. They had this little merry-go-round that all the girls rode a couple times. Finley got on it and held on just like a big girl! As she was going around, she would cut her eyes at me and smile when I waved or clapped, but she wouldn't turn her head to look at me. It was hysterical! I wish I could have gotten that on video. Kids birthday parties are so much fun! Someone remind me I said that when I have 3 to go to in one day;) Anyway, Finley had a blast and we ran by TJ Maxx after that and once we got back to my MIL's she crashed. It was a great day!
Must be fate...
Well, as you know, we had a lady come look at our house and she said she was very interested and we were really exciting because we know she can get financing and it sounded promising. Sunday, while I was in Bham, Joey opened the garage door to find people in our driveway. They had come to see if they could look at the house. They are a retired couple who are about to sell their house in Tallahassee and want to relocate to Mobile. Their children and grandchildren live in our neighborhood! They too said they were really interested. How great would it be to get 2 offers on our house!!!! Really I'm just hoping one of them comes through. We shall see!
Grandad
We had a great trip to Bham this past weekend! We went over to my step-sister's house on Saturday because my dad and step-mom were in town. That would be Finley's Grandad and Mimi. Finley had a great time visiting with everyone. She played with the puppies and she and Grandad took a walk which ended with a nap. She ate some BBQ and birthday cake(Happy Birthday Chris!)We didn't have a whole lot on the agenda so it made for a nice, relaxing weekend and Finley got some quality grandparent time!

Could it be???
Could we actually have a buyer??? A young woman and her two kids came to see the house today. She is in the military and told us on the phone that she was looking to move quickly. She said she really loved the house and the neighborhood and asked us how fast we could be out. She said she would have her commander come by and check it out as soon as possible. The whole thing sounds very promising, but I'm not going to get my hopes up yet. Now, who will let us come and live with them because if we sell this house we will be homeless. At this point, I will be so happy that we were able to sell our house in this market that I would gladly go live in one of those weekly suites if I had too;) Please pray that this works out for us!!!!!

Thursday's Thirteen
1.) We are heading back to Bham tomorrow. On the road again... A friend of mine has a little girl who is turning 3 so we are heading up for her birthday. Also, my MIL is having a yard sale in her neighborhood on Saturday so I'm going to try and sell some of the things I couldn't get rid of at my mom's yard sale. My dad and step-mom will be in town too!
2.) I'm not far from getting what I call a "fancy" camera!!! I'm so close I can hear the clicking sound of my new camera as it takes 3 pics per second.
3.) Finley got a Pottery Barn Kids gift card for her birthday and I used it to buy a beach towel with her name on it. It is so cute!!! I thought it would make a great gift for all the kiddie birthdays we had coming up. I found some really cute beach towels at Target and had them monogrammed with the kids names. They have been a huge hit! They are inexpensive, cute and they will come in handy all year round! Just wanted to share :)
4.) It was absolutely gorgeous today! I hope it stays that way because I plan on laying out while Finley naps. Brown fat looks better than white fat;)
5.) I have so many friends who are going to have babies in the next few weeks/months! I am SO excited for all of them! Mainly because I know how much joy and love they are about to experience, but also because I'm not the one about to give birth ;)
6.) I needed something to read today while I laid out so I grabbed Breaking Dawn on my way out the door. It stirred up all those old "Twilight" emotions. Ahhh, can.not.wait.for.ECLIPSE!!!
7.) 5 weeks until my family beach trip!! Yay!!!!
8.) Every 10 or 15 minutes I walk into my bathroom because I really need to clean it before the people come to look at the house tonight, but I just walk back out and tell myself I'll do it in a little while. I HATE cleaning bathrooms!!!
9.) Last night, two of my favorite movies were on TV so I had to keep flipping back and forth. Thelma and Louise and Steel Magnolias. I don't know why I was so desperate to watch both at the same time, I have them on DVD.
10.) "Go confidently in the direction of your dreams! Live the life you've imagined. As you simplify your life, the laws of the universe will be simpler." -Henry David Thoreau
11.) I'm going to have to break down and buy a swimsuit eventually. I've been putting it off for weeks. I've been laying out in the backyard in my pajama pants rolled up and a tank top. It's about as redneck as you can get.
12.) Finley loves to help me water the flowers in the front yard. Actually, she just likes to get as close as she can to the water stream so that the mist soaks her completely.
13.) I've realized that the heavier Finley gets, the more muscular my arms get. As this rate, my biceps will be bigger than Joey's and his are pretty big! My hubby is buff;)

Supernanny, help me!
Recently, Finley has started having little temper tantrums. They don't last long, maybe 5-7 seconds, but she has 3 to 5 little fits a day. If I tell her "No, no" or take something from her that she's not supposed to have she throws herself in the floor and starts crying. She also yells and kind of stiffens up and shakes a little bit when she's really mad. For instance, if I'm on the computer and she reaches up to try to touch the keyboard and I move it away from her she does her little stiff and shake. Does anyone else's 1 year old do this??? I thought temper tantrums would be a little further down the road. It has me a little worried because I don't know how to respond to it. I know that she's going to have tantrums and according to Supernanny that's okay because she has a right to get mad or frustrated about something, but I really want to nip this in the bud before she starts having them in public and before it becomes a habit. Any advice you other moms have would be greatly appreciated!!!
